when using a python to vac and fill your tank how do you clean filters sponges whith tank water when you vac with python the water you vac is going down the drain

I guess either run back and forth for a minute to fill up a bucket.

Or you could dechlorinate some water and use that........

i have a special plastic cup that only gets used for my tank. Since its kinda hard to fill up a bucket with the python, I take the cup, and pull water out of the tank before a water change, and fill up a large bowl, and clean the filter in that.

i just dunk a kritter keeper in the tank before i python and use that water
