I was wondering about this thing my black molly haru had before she died a while ago cry3.gif
She died of dropsy/anchorworm
Well,a few hours before she died. She was in bad shape and it looked like she couldnt close her mouth cry3.gif
Molly's and platies mouth sorta point upwardish.Well, her mouth was just hanging open.It didnt look like normal. It looked like a hole with some of her skin hanging down.
Do you know why that happened.I feel really sad right now becasue I really liked her and I think her last few hours were awful crap.gif cry3.gif
Is it just becasue she was about to die or something else?
-Thanks cry3.gif

i think all livebearers' mouths are like that, just like guppies. was she trying to breathe or something? maybe? was her gills okay?

I have other an other platy. Her mouth unlike the way the usually were just sorta fell flat.It was big gaping hole...And I mean big
Raith
could it be a fungus or something similiar? got a pic?
Whirlwind
No pic-It wasnt fingus. It was her normal mouth but it looked deflated.Hanging wide open. And instead of pointing up it just turned like a gf's mouth suddenly except for it looking more wider and she cant close it.

i have absolutely no clue. this reminds me, however, of a turtle that does this. =\

Hmmm... I was the unfortunate naive purchaser of a group of platies with just about everything wrong with them, but none had droopy mouths, even after they died. I'm stumped.
