Okay this is a sign of a bacterial infection according to the poop page. Any recommendations on which antibiotic to get? This is the only symptom at present. Tank parameters are perfect. Brought in an apparently healthy oto cat last friday.

I couldn't wait for an answer because I am really concerned so I ordered some medigold. I hope this is the right thing to do. This is my girl and I noticed a little more bottom sitting. She will be active for a bit and then just rest with her belly on the bottom for a while. Wish us luck! Does a month ever go by without some scary moment?

Ok, i've seen my goldie poop out long thin white poop before but sometimes goldfish don't always poop out the same colour as their food...

This literally looks like thread. It's definitely not even remotely a normal poop. It was so odd and I've seen similar floating before in the tank and sucked it out thinking it was from the silk plants. I saw this happening, it was about 4" long and very thin and snow white.

Maybe you should feed it some anti-biotic food just to be on the safe side

I am just praying that it gets here quick enough. I have a feeling I won't get it until next week.

You could make your own anti-biotic food

I have done this before and i think it has worked...
I used Interpet's Anti Internal Bacteria med and soaked the granule in it and fed it to my fish..

Hi Andrea, How is Spring doing now? Have there been any other symptoms? I hope she will be allright! When I ordered from goldfish connection, it got here really quickly, but I know it is never quick enough when you need it NOW! Good luck!
