Females are so looked over, specialy those muddy ones in the pet stores. Really they can be prettier than males themselves! Plus orange marbles/cambodians have a soft spot in my heart...Couldn't pass these up. They arrived Friday night from an excellent breeder( John Nyguen) and I couldn't be happier Apricot a plakat DT and an un named plakat.

Ive always loved the way female bettas looked, but never have owned one. They are kinda hard to find around here. Ive only seen them in stock a few times here within a couple of years, and they usually dont have many.

I'm sorry hear that, it's hard to find nice ones at all anyway because of how commercialy bred they are. Hehe, if you ever want baby females just give a shout, I'll see what's in stock in the fry tank.

Those ARE really nice ones. The only ones I've seen for sale are the breeders' rejects... "plain" colors and odd-shaped fins... but then again, I've never specifically looked.

Silly Tam... I've ogled aquabid for hours upon hours already! ...and I want everything, not just the bettas.

Gorgeous females, Tam! I, too, love the females and have some very pretty ones. I am lucky to have a fish store that is supplied by a good, local breeder and she supplies some very nice fish.

You're lucky in finding a reliable source for fish, specialy bettas. There's a store here that amazes me with their beautifull goldfish, tropicals and marine tanks, but makes me cringe at the site of their bettas. Lucky, lucky, lucky.

I stopped in to an area Petsmart to buy some food for my dogs and, of course, had to look at the fish. They had some very pretty female bettas. Too bad it is full at the inn. They also had some gorgeous calico ryukins ... sigh.

I'll tell you what,after the "Levi/Snap situation,I swore I would not buy another Betta.The last time I was at Petco,they had a white(Bright white) Betta with White fins trimmed in PURPLE!!! Never saw that shade of purple on a Betta! It was really purple!! I managed somehow-how I don't even know(probably because my daughter would have made sarcastic comments) but I didn't bring it home...I was disappointed for a while-for sure,but I really didn't need another Betta.

That bites Esareh, I'm sure she has her reasons. You have to be very carefull when buying things online, sometimes you don't get what you paid for and other times it plain doesn't arrive. Specialy on Aquabid, you have to read the feed back and decifer if the seller/breeder is reliable and truthful. Screen them! The only reason I buy online is because the stores here mainly carry the more common tails such as Crownies and Veils, now I love them but it's Doubles I ADORE .

Ya, eversince my mom bought something using paypal and someone hacked into her checking account and stole money from her we cant get anything. there is this one store in my area called Beltds aquarium supplies ( yes, goldies too) they have the PRETTIEST bettas. I got my little omnipharous from there. hes so eccentric!

Ill make an omnipharous on paint! lol
