Hi Lovergirl,

Welcome to koko's! smile.gif

From your description, your fish has a bad case of bacterial infection. sad.gif

You really need to test your water quality. Poor water quality stresses the fish out and greatly reduce their immune response leading to bacteria and parasites getting a free ride. Please get test kits for ammonia, nitrIte and pH as a start. If you can get test kits, try taking a sample of water to a LFS. They should be able to test it for you. Make sure you get numbers from them and no just high/low/okay.

Treatment for this is difficult. Can you get medicated food like medigold? Can you warm your tank? It would be good to raise it to around 78*F but do it gradually. Say 1-2 degs per hour. You can try dosing with maracyn-2 but its effectiveness in this case is going to be limited.

Good luck! Please post back with some waterQ readings and then we can see if your water needs fixing too.

captk is right. You really do need to get the water tested. I know petsmart will test your water for free, so I would take it in tomorrow and get it looked at. The cloudy eye sounds like popeye to me. I had a fish get this a few times before, and I treated it with maracyn 2. Also some medicated food would be appropraite. Keep us posted!
