I have 2 rubberlip plecos I got for about a month now.I tried feeding them some algae dics and wafers but they don't seem to like them.My frys end up getting all the extra food huh.gif They are doing a great job eating all the algae in my 40 gallon tank but I am worried that they'll suck up my frys slime coat so I needed advice on what else I could feed them.Any help is greatly appreciated smile.gif Thanks...

I don't know alot about them, but maybe move them if you are worried??? I have one and he doesn't like the wafers either, he is too into the real stuff. The gf on the other hand love it.

I've never heard a Rubberlip bothering a GF,but I guess never say never. Laurie's right though,They love a veried diet.I know they're known to love algae, but you should see my guys tearing into some semi-cooked Spinach Leaves,Zucchinnii,Squash,Collard Greens, etc. They have grown so much since I added the Snails, and started feeding all the veggies. As for the algae wafer's ,mine will eat them, but they don't always like the particular Brand I 've had.I actually bought a few different ones before I got it right for them. rolleyes.gif

This is what koko posted on one of my threads a while back...

I have two of them in my tanks, they are great guys, but remember to have plenty of food they will find goldfish tasty if you run out of algea for them......

I found one sucking on my sick ranchu too sad.gif I'm gonna try feeding them a variety of veggies from now on.Is cucumber okay?Should the veggies all suppose to be cooked?

Thanks again smile.gif

I guess you could cook one and leave one raw and see which they like better.
Funny little things on what they like and don't like, I guess they are like us in some ways.

Thank you Laurie smile.gif

I'm gonna try it both ways and see what they'll eat.
