The ich is nearly gone!!!!! I repeat the ich is nearly gone!!!!!!
Only a couple of fish have about two spots on their bodies smile.gif The rainbow and the smallest platy seemed unaffected throughout the treatment. I think this is working well because I must have caught it early smile.gif and my temp is above 80F, Im going to keep the tank on a brackish now smile.gif my platies and rainbows will benefit from this smile.gif And hopefully it will stop the ich from returning, the only bad new is that my female rainbow appears to have mouth fungus! Hopefully the brackish environment will help that problem. I have just one question, my nitrate is between 5 and 10, I heard the salt will make nitrate more toxic, should I do a water change tommorow?
Wish me luck and **hopefully** My tank will be back to normal.
Also, even the fish that have no signs of ich are flicking, I thoought this might be due to the toxicity of the nitrate thanks to the salt, but I will do the water change. One of the platies, is acting very weird, it has totally clamped its fins and only opens them during the day, I think she might have been sensitive to the ich but luckily she is looking much better.
Wish me luck with the rest of the treatment
If I am successfull, I will hug you all rofl3.gif

i wouldnt count your chickens just yet pearly. ich falls off the fish and then a day or so later more appear. you will only be totally cured if you havent seen any for at least a week. the clamping and flashing still indicates that the parasite is still present, but as you say the salt may be keeping them at bay,but only if its at .3% will it eradicate it entirely.

dont know about the nitrate level, hopefully someone can help with that.
