heya. i have got a 6 galon that is free at the mo, and i was wondering if i cud divide it into 3, to make 3 2 gal compartments. the only prob is, i dont know what to use? can you but betta dividers? also, wouldnt the dividers have to have gaps in them so that heat would reach the other compartments, and not just the one that the heater is in?

Ive seen several different types of dividers here. One of them is a mesh type stuff. Looks kind alike nylon tightly glues onto a plastic frame. The only ones ive ever used, which came with my 5 gallon mini bow, is this solid plastic one, that has gaps about 2 inches in it, every 1/2 inche down.

ah, cool. did you buy them then?

Ive used the plastic ones, but not the mesh like ones. It works great for me, and keeps water flowing and the whole tank heated exactly the same.

I think you should divide it in two 2 parts,it will be easier personaly.
You can go to a craft store, they sometimes sell plastic netting for
crafts and stuff... or you can buy them already made but there rather
expensive. If your room that your going to put the betta is warm enough you
don't need to worry about a heater..

Anwyays heres a pic of what i was talking about (the plastic netting)
