Are they the same,do they work the same? I know that a filter cleans the water and that a pump transports water and is a fountain, is there any more info i need? This is holding my parents back from getting me a pond dry.gif , because there is a pond kit with two ponds (8x6 each) that comes with a filter and a pump and the rest of the stuff. There is a pond (5x6) with a pump and the other stuff and they want to know if you need a filter.I need some help with this so help is appreciated!

Here is some information on pond filtration and pond water quality for you. Maybe you should have your parents read it as well so that you can best figure out what your needs would be regarding your pump and filtration.

Ok i think we are going to get the small pond. I will have mr.koi and some more fish in the pond. We might have the little pond then a waterfall down to the bigger one. I hope it works smile.gif
I looked at those sites. They helped.

Remember Calico, koi need 250 gl's each, and goldies are 10 gl's or more each also, so don't overstock or you will have problems! smile.gif I'd hate to see anything happen or problems! :0

Good luck with your pond and we want to see pics when its done and Mr. Fishy! biggrin.gif
