Could someone tell me exactly what a sump is. I have a general idea but dont know any specifics and that would really help in making one. Some pics would be nice too if you got any. Thanx.

When you say sump. What exactly are you referring to? Generically speaking, I believe a sump is just a submerged pump. To make a sump from scratch would require a huge amount of knowledge in fabrication with resins, electrical and hydrodynamics. Something I have yet to see accomplished the DIY route......

Other than that, the only thing I can think of that you mean is an undertank wet/dry filter. This in itself would be a chore but it is far from impossible. wink.gif

Thanx for the link. Could be very help ful once I read it a hundred times. Right now its a bit confusing still. Im sure Ill get it soon enough.

The best way to get an idea of the way they work would be to go down to your local fish shop and ask to see one in action. I think once you see the way the skimmerbox works and the return pump and all, you'll have a good firm grasp on it. biggrin.gif
