When I feed my red Oranda "Lint" he goes nutts!!! I feed him several times a day ("small feedings" that he eats all of with in seconds). Once he nearly nipped my finger while I was attempting to put the food in the tank. He has access to all of the plants he can munch on and he takes full advantage of that, but still acts like he is starving everytime I feed him. He is very active and friendly.... but he always acts hungry. Why does he do that? I also have been experimenting with fruits and veggies once a week. He loves those too. is this behavior normal? Why is he so hungry? Thud.gif

goldfish will always eat even if they are not hungry, they do this by nature since they have no idea when their next meal will be, so they gobble up anything eatable and it is possible to overfeed them, im not sure what happens to them when overfeeding happens though since i have never done this...

Maybe he's just a shameless begger... my fish are- I cant be in the same _room_ without them begging. They give up after awhile (half hour or so), but if I so much as look their way they start in again. They're so darn cute!

you should be happy he's going after your fingers! that means he's willing to be hand-fed, something most people greatly desire their fish to do!
