does anyone know? my father claims its viable to create one. he says he can create one with floss and other materials, but i want to make one myself. does anyone know how to make one?

I think it really depends on what sort of cartridge you are trying to create.

I have taken apart the ready made ones that come with the Emperor 170's and have filled the frame with biomedia. I then glued down net fabric (the kind that bags and net t-shirts are made from) over this so they are permanently held in. I sewed a net bag the fits tightly over this - and slip a piece of bulk white floss in. This floss can be changed without affecting the biomedia at all. I now have a fancy cartridge that adds biomedia, and replaceable floss for very cheap.
