Hi smile.gif

I had one but it was with tropicals and was always trying to catch them. If you really want one put it in a tropical tank with top and mid swimming fish. Goldies may be too slow and get their fins caught by the claws.
I was going to say maybe use bands to tie the claws but can it still eat? huh.gif
I have heard that people take the claws off them, but i think thats cruel and unneccesary.

I would say no. I had a friend who had a crawfish with her fish and it was always eating the tropical fish she had in there, and it would tear the fins of a goldfish she had in there also.

yup - crayfish eat fish and sometimes, each other. They are not good tank mates for goldfish.

They have a learning section in the elementary schools around here that involves crayfish - all the kids are given one and they live in a wading pool in the science room. At the end of the learning segment all the kids take the crayfish home. I usually end up with numerous ones dumped into my swimming pool. Poor little yummy fellas....
