I've got a bit of an outbreak of Ich in my tropical tank, I was just wondering if they can be treated with salt, I know guppies like slightly salted water but the Ich is more noticable in the Platies, I don't know if platies cope well with salt and at what %.

Also, I have about 40 Guppy fry in the tank which will be moved soon, shall I salt their water in their new home or will they be ok? crap.gif

Salt is platys' water will do them good so i am sure it will be no problem.
I don't no about guppy fry but snice guppys like salt I guess fry wouldn't have a problem with it. gudluksn.gif with the ich treatments!

Thanx fishies, What % should I salt to? I think I will salt the babies tank to 0.1% and see how we go. biggrin.gif
sandy
salt the water to .2% and then the next day to .3%. Thats using 1 level teaspoon per gallon per day and raise the temp to 80f to quicken the life cycle. for the babies try them at .1% in the fry tank and see how hey do with that.
