I use Tetra brand AquaSafe with every water change. Well, when I bought some recently, it came with a free bottle of a product called EasyBalance. It claims to reduce frequent water changes. Does anyone know if you really can reduce weekly water changes, because that's how often I do it, so how much longer can you really go without doing a partial water change? It says it will keep your tank biologically and chemically balanced for up to 6 months. Any answers or comments?
Thanks.

Jesi no it does not do what it says it can. You will only cause problems in the tank if you listen to them.
Weekly water changes to keep the cycle in range are nessasary. Sorry no miracle product can take its place.

It sounds too good to be true - where do all the nitrAtes go?

It supposed has bacteria that convert nitrAtes to nitrogen gas.

I wouldnt use the stuff.
I also saw it awhile ago at my LFS, and took one look at it, and said nope, not for me. I would keep with the weekly water changes. I dont trust all the stuff they put out on the market. Water changes work for me, so ill stick to them.
Good Luck, and I hope you found your answers.

When you squirt it in the water, these white crystally looking things sink to the bottom and stay in the gravel. (Nitrates.)

i have been using it for quite a while now (recently stopped) and i can say by experience that it is a waste of money. dont get it! it doesnt do anything nor does it help with any water quality problems. (i still changed my water on a regular basis though) to be honest i think the quality of the water is better since i have stopped using the product.

I've used it a bit. Thought that it seemed to make the bacteria and the algae grow too well. It did even out some pH issues that I was having. Don't use it often seems to goo up the tank.
