Well I got some fish today!!!! it was soo much fun. I looked for minnows, but they didnt have any. But I got three different types of schooling fish, and so far their doing great. I got a bristlenose pleco. Hes having a hayday in the tank! Hes already eaten a ton of algea. I go three lamp eyed tetras (I didnt personally want to get them, but we had them before in our 30 gallon with Mr. Orange and my fiance loved them. They lived three or four years before they died, so hopefully these ones do ok too). We also got 5 of these really pretty green tailed things.... cant remember the names. They stick more towards the top of the tank. Their kinda long. About an inche long each. Goldies havent bugged them once. Then I bought some neon glo-light tetras. I wasnt real sure about them at first because they seemed kinda small and I dont know much about them, but the LFS lady said they should do fine. Also got another type of schooling fish, but cant remember their names. Their tan with red on them.... some kind of albino fish... Im bad with names. I have my tank heated at 76F, you think they should be ok?
So far so good. All the fish are schooling together. One of them got lost, and seemd alittle freaked out, but then the others came by, and he seemed fine once he found the others.
I'll get pictures tonight so everyone can see.

Well so far so good. The goldies have been kinda curious about the other fish, and chase them around every once in awhile. They seem pretty fast, so if the goldies get near them, they take off. None of them arent really schooling together. You think they will over time? Also, two of the smaller ones have come up missing..... think maybe they got eaten, not sure though. they could be hiding. its a big tank, so they could be somewhere, but I know their not dead.. or if they are, their in one of my fishies bellies. who knows. Do you think the goldies will leave them alone over time? I remember Mr. Orange picked at the lamp eyed tetras when we first got them, and then within a week, he just acted like they werent there.
Also, algea eater is doing an excellent job. He acts like hes never eaten before.

LOL yeah the small ones are all gone except for one. I know for sure one of them got eaten because I caught my white fantail with fins sticking out of his mouth. I was kinda weary about getting those ones because they were so small, but my fiance wanted them! The last one remaining is staicking around with the lamp eye tetras and the other redish tan fish. The fish that stick towards the top, and have green fins are all doing well. They pretty big, and even when they fish go at them, they swim away pretty fast. I have a feeling they'll start doing better now because they've finally started schooling together, and they probably have a better chance when their together. The four that did get eaten were kinda swimming off on their own, and in a 55 gallon all alone, their pretty tiny.... and easy to eat.
Only two of the three goldies in the tank could have fit those goldies in his mouth. Do you think they could constipate them? Two fish in one day seemed like alot of food for one fish... and who knows if the same fish didnt eat all four!

You dont really have to worry about them getting constipated. But if the variety of fish that are getting eaten have rigid, leading dorsal rays, it could stab the roof of your goldies mouth......
Any chance you could check out a couple sites to see exactly what kind of fish you have?

I personaly would have not put all those fish in with your goldies

,
All those fish your talking about are Tropicals.... Just 2 VERY diffrent
types of fish. If possible if i were you id put all of the new fish (other than the pleco) into another tank.
How big is the tank?, How many goldies ect ?
