I seen a thing at the LFS. Its a round ammonia scale that you stick in your tank. I been pondering on it but its $10 and i wanted to know if anyone else has used this before i go spending $$ on it if it dont work.

I had one along time ago. I didnt like them very much. it wouldnt tell me the ammonia was unsafe until it was like 2ppms, which isnt really good. Ive heard some people say their ok, others not like them. I personally wouldnt spend the money on one.

mine wasn't great either. Spring for the ammonia tester, cheaper in the long run

I have one. I really isn't worth it. I agree with Obsidian get the test kit instead. If you do your testing and water changes it won't change color because you'll be doing preventative measure to keep it from raising.
