I like Oto's too, but I've been told in another thread here in this forum that Oto's are a possible snack for goldfish. Furthermore, the Oto's barbels pose a choking risk.

Rubberlip ro Bristlenose Pleco's are really the best types to keep with Goldfish. The onlty thing you have to realize is that they will clean the algae off your tank, but they do need algae wafers, fresh veggies, and other food in their diet to remain happy & healthy. smile.gif One thing to remember is to make sure that they're a decent size when you add them to your goldfish tank. I had some small goldies that ate two baby Rubberlip's. cry3.gif

ok thanks alot. i was also wondering how much one of those pelcos would cost. i would also know how large of a pelco i would need to clean the algea in a 30 gal with 3 fish and 2 plants. again thanks alot

Bristlenoses get to be about 4.5 - 5" long when full grown. They are often half that size when you get them. However, they have huge appetites for algae and one bristlenose will clean up a 30 gallon. You will then have to supplement his diet with veggies & algae wafers (mine love zucchini). They will also get a taste for sinking goldfish pellets biggrin.gif

I paid around $10 Cdn. for my bristlenoses.

I haven't had any experience with rubberlips.
