Has anyone here tried raising darters, genus Etheostoma? They are a beautiful group of fish native to north America. I'm looking into the possibility of keeping them in a tank with goldfish (perhaps this post should have been in the "Compatable Fish" section instead) or in a species tank.

Their requirements are a pH of about 7.0, lower than is recommended for goldfish but if pH is constant them would probably fare well, and a temp. in the mid 60's F.
They are bottom dwellers and are found over rocky stream beds in their native habitat.

Just curious if anyone has firsthand experience in raising these beautiful fish.
