Hi, just need some advice: I'm looking at getting an aquaclear 300 hang on filter for my 3 foot tank, which holds around 26 gallons. Is this filter going to be too powerful, will my fish be able to swim against the current?
Also, having no experience with hang on filters and with the tank in my bedroom, how noisy are they?
Thanks for the help!

Great choice. Have one myself on one of my 3ft's and it's fantastic if you want to go with a hang on filter. The water flow acts as a great water agitator and aerator. My fish have no problem with it whatsoever and noise? what noise?

It's fairly silent.
Hope this helps

Love the Aquaclears. I have them on my tropical tanks and the 300 is on my daughter 20 gal. in her room. I also use the emporers and penguins which are also great filters. If you are looking for silence I find the aquaclears to be the most silent of the three. Hope this helps.

I think the AquaClear 300 should be a good size for your tank. I have found that the AquaClears seem to get a little quieter after they run for a bit.
