today i saw an acrylic 100 gallon tank set that had a built in filter and came with the stand and the canopy as well for $799. i wish i could remember the brand name but i cant. is that about the average cost of a 100 gallon? i need a bigger tank and am looking at my options...

$799.00 for a 100ga acrylic with stand, hood and built in filter is about average in the US. I paid $699.00 for my 90ga acrylic with all the same stuff except the filter wasn't built in it was a wet/dry sump style filter.

The problem I've seen with this type of system is that the filtration is sized for use as a salt water tank and is not up to handling the bio load created by goldfish.

usually, for a cheaper tank, you have to search garage sales.
