[attachmentid=6536]yes; they are probably tiger peckoltias, although they aren't good algae eaters but they are very showy do they look somewhat like this?
Raith

they kinda look like that but more yellow...
The LFS guy told me they can handle algae blink.gif I have some driftwoods and plants so I wanted to put one in because algae is growing on them.hmmm....I have to think about this. Thanks panda-oranda1030 biggrin.gif

And thank you david for the link smile.gif
Raith
mighty welcome! smile.gif

Peckoltias are not very good algae eaters. They are good companions with goldfish, however, they don't do much for the algae. You would be better with a bristlenose pleco (ancistrus), if you want an algae eater that is compatible with goldfish smile.gif

Unfortunately,I haven't seen a single bristlenose pleco around here sad.gif only commons, tiger and sailfin...I'll continue to look for one though just in case I find one.Thank you biggrin.gif

I asked if my lfs would order a bristlenose for me, and they did. Perhaps you should ask around and see if one of the stores near you will order one.

Thanks touchofsky smile.gif

Do you have a pic of a bristlenose pleco?Sometimes they change the names of plecos here.Like the rubberlip pleco is called bronze pleco sad.gif maybe I've seen one with a different name smile.gif

I definitely saw the second pic!It was black and a bit high priced. It was called matsubusi pleco blink.gif huh.gif

Thank you koko(again biggrin.gif )

Another thing to remember is that the females have less prominent bristles.

Thanks touchofsky biggrin.gif I really appreciate your help!

You're welcome. I hope you are successful in finding one. They are great little algae eaters.

One of mine is very visible, too. The other is more shy. Both of mine are female biggrin.gif
koko
I have one too and they are great, I also noticed they arent as shy as other plecos either.....How is yours TouchofSky?
touchofsky
The one I have had for a couple of years is not shy at all. She is as "in your face" as the goldfish laugh.gif The other one that I have had for only a couple of months is still more shy. I wonder if she will become outgoing after I have had her for a while.
koko
Yeah mine likes to come out and watch me when I'm watching Dede. Then she will come out and eat with Dede too, strange of all the Pleco's I have had those are the most friendliest i have seen ohmy.gif
