Awww, Mary! ohmy.gif

I can't believe that she went so suddenly like that. She surely fought the good fight. unsure.gif

One thing that I did not like was the fact that dr. Tepper allowed another goldfish to come into contact with poly. This does not seem like a very professional way of quarentinining a fish. Being that there are MANY different forms of bacteria, parasites and bullying and the like can occur. this, to me, is not a smart thing to do. My main concern is wether or not the goldfish that was kept with her had been given a 100% clean bill of health. With everything that I ahve read and understand about goldfish and illness, I have never heard of this being any sort of safe practice.

Has Dr. tepper ever gone into detail with you about the history fo the goldfish in question. I mean, if you had a very ill dog and brought it in to Dr. Tepper and you found that it was being kept in the same cage as some other dog, wouldn't you be concerned? huh.gif

Sorry for beng so suspicious. But something just doesn't add up here. She was showing marked improvement and then just suddenly passes?

Good luck Mary. I hope your little common there does well for you. heartpump.gif

Thanks for your sympathy, Paul - I do feel quite bad about it. Wanted to let you know I did ask Dr. Tepper about possible bullying, and that, at least, was not possible because the fish in his holding tanks don't come in physical contact with each other, though they do share a water supply. I also know he scrapes and scopes everybody before letting them in there - but, of course, it's still possible she picked something up from one of the others. After all, humans do get sick in the hospital, don't they? Anyway, the one thing I know for sure is that her first visit to the doc and the shot treatment helped her a lot. Her tail did start to regrow, and I saw no red parts from then onwards. I just wish I knew what eventually killed her. Thanks again for all your help.
