I dont have the water parems, nor can i get them, but my fantail has been egg bound and a little tipsy lately, if she stopped swimming her bum would float up wards. She was getting better, then i did a water change and shes fighting it, but she keeps flipping over belly up and floating to the surface, she looks really bad, and this only happened in the last five minutes. Please help.

ok i have come to the conclusion the water added was too cold, and it mustve went right on her, and she went into shock. But now whut? I have her in a bucket of room temp water and now shes swimming better, but as soon as she stops she bobs back to the surface belly up. I am really really worried

Meg is she still in the bucket? I would get her acclimated back to the tank. Once in there for egg impaction you can raise the temp to around 78-80 and use salt to help her.
I myself have some egg problems going on, and Ranchu recommended to fast them a couple days. I have done this and today is the first day with peas.
Good luck.

i did the aclimating as soon as she started to stabalise herself. Once i figured out whut had happened. I find it very weird the other fish werent bothered by it
and it wasnt alot of water, only the last inch in the tank. but any ways, shes my problem fish, always something wrong with her. She still not herself, still sluggish.
Shes not belly up any more, however she is tilted to the side, and swimming at the very surface, she can dive, but it tires her out so she just lets herself bob back up. Ive gotten past the crucial stages i think, but i still need help.
The tank temp was raised all ready to help her with the egg-boundness, i will try fasting her. hopefully this will help her regain her proper boyancy. Thanks Laurie

You are welcome. After 36 hours of fasting for mine they did good. They are still somewhat swollen, but I don't think as bad.
