Is there a size an apple snail has to be to lay eggs?
Because my snail Ajula keeps coming out of the water and stays out
for awhile.... when i mean out it's like 2 to 3 inches from the water.

They have land gills too so there always needs to be like 1-3 inches of tank left without water for them to breathe!!!! This may be why!!!! Good luck and i hope i was some help!!

I am not sure about size, but I do think they have to be a certain age before laying eggs. I just checked on applesnail.net and could not find anything either. blink.gif

Alex,ingeneral,there are alot of factor's as to when they styart to breed.Genetic's,water conditions,what you feed it-all have a rule in it.It's possible for Apple Snails the size of a nickel or so(around 5 months old)to lay eggs. I think that on average,they're closer to Quarter size though,and between 6 and 8 months old.There are exceptions though to every rule though. smile.gif Take this as an "Average"
