my mother bought it at a Goodwill for $2. it's called a sand shark and it goes completely under water. i've been having trouble with my HOB filter in the snail tank because i have sand substrate. will this sand shark work better? will it be ok with baby snails? not sucking them up? i mean it only has this grated area to pull water in through so it doesn't look like anything would be small enough to get sucked in, but i'm new to all this stuff.

thanks!

I know my aquaclear intakes were large enough to let baby snails in. How old are your babies? If you think there is any chance of them getting sucked into the intake, then do not use it until they are older. smile.gif
