Is there such a thing as albino snails? And if so what do they look like?

I am not completely sure. I think there are very pale snails though. Take a look at some of these sites, they may have something.

From what I have found, yes there are albino snails.

Ok there is some question to this. Some people sell "albino" snails, which are actually chestnuts/LSPs/something else. Anyways, they have brownish-purple shells with stripes, and light feet. How this coloration makes them albino, I have yet to see.

There are albino pest snails, but they turn red because of their blood and won't appear white.

There are ivory Brigs, which is most likely what you'll run into, but they are white genetically, and it isn't an albino mutation.

Well I also found that albino snails are actually nothing of the sort, but actually apple snails (at liveaquaria.com, thanks for the links Florissa) but that information is contradicted because someone is auctioning off 3 "albino" ramshorn snails, which I am interested in, though suspicious at the same time considering there is no picture. LOL

Since you guys are curious as well, I have decided to email the auctioneer asking her for a picture and if she gives me one I'll try to somehow post it for you gus to see, although I don't think it will let me, and I have never tried to do so on this message board before, having heard it was pretty difficult to do so. But I'll keep you posted.

They look kind of yellow to me. Maybe they just really have thin shells?
