This is the 2nd time my goldfish layed eggs and this is the 2nd time the eggs did not hatch. Within the 3rd day they all have fugus on them. What I am I doing wrong??I go from being excited to very disappointed! I read that you are supposed to wash the eggs is that true? And they should be kept in water no deeper that 6 inches. Will the eggs hatch in the same water that you removed them from the tank?
I appreciate suggestions & comments

There is a possibility that the eggs were not fertilized

I'm sorry I can't help much but someone from the board will

Coyote ugly is right, the eggs may not have been fertile.
I lost all my fry to fungus a while back. Next time try putting some methylane blue in the water where you are going to hatch your eggs. That is what I'm going to do next time I hatch eggs. I didn't put it in until I saw signs of fungus. I think it needs to be added from the very start.
I hope you have better luck next time.

Yep, adding that on the very first day is the best precaution, really. Did you have an airstone in the egg tank as well? They need that to develop properly. And there is still the chance that they weren't fertilized, yes.
The tank water they were layed in is perfect for them. I never give them any other water, or water change, at that stage. One little mishap with the temperature, and they are gooners.
