only if the tank is tropical and theres lots of hidey holes. royals are very shy plecs and only venture out rarely.

i have had a royal and yes the eyes are a lovely red. Kev has one just now and maybe he would like to share a pic of it ??
anyway you could keep it with goldies but only if the tank was warm and plenty of hidey holes, and there was no danger of the fish eating him.
