i went to the pet store today to get crab food, adn came home with 6 new crabs...I figured my little guys were lonely and i havent bought any new critters for awhile

What shall I name them???

I already have a Kermit, Bruiser, Shy Guy, and Gizmo. and Im drawing a blank for these guys.....

yeah,they are cool-I have about a dozen of them? I always lose track cause someone's always buried somewhere when I do a head count.

LOL Hermies are quite addicting, arent they!? I currently have… 6! (Had to think about it). What species are all yours? I have a mix although I was trying to keep a species only tank.

As far as names mine mostly have to do with nature-y type things: Mossy, Mango, Olive, Ivy and Monster. (Because he was tiny but mean!). My strawberry doesnt really have an official name but I call him Strawberry (original, huh?) for lack of anything better. You could name them after types of seashells or oceans or things you find on the beach. (Seaweed, coral, tide, sand…)

I picked the ones in the pretty shells and they ALL changed into other, generic, speckley shells I have....now i cant even tell them apart!

all the new guys are purple pinchers......2 of my old guys are PP's also, one is a strawberry(I think....he was tan, then molted to a nice bright red) and the other...is just a monster...his claw looks like it belongs to a crab 6 times bigger and hes all grey and hairy-ish. no clue what he is...hes a beast though!

The tan one that turned red is most likely a cavipes. They come in all sorts of colors. Straws are only red. Mine is very young and is red and white but they are never tan. The one with the monster claw sounds like an Indo. They are usually blue gray with a huge oversized pincher.

Dont feel bad that the crabs all changed shells–thats actually a really good thing because it means you have lots of shells that they like! Im sure someone else will use the pretty shells, sometime.

what is diff between teh capives and the indo crabs then the purple pinchers??(besides colors...lol)

Oh, okay, like none of you ever came home from school with headlice, huh? I did once, it sucked. Those buggers itch! I couldn't imagine having "the other lice"......

I never got head lice when I was in school...... only the dirty kids got it.

Um, I never had either kinds of lice. I've had hermit crabs though.
