Hi Guys,
I m here after a very long time......The forum look nice and new......so its been very long since last I had problems with my goldies. The winter here this time was too cold I think good for goldies now the temperature is dropping and my goldies are spawning like anything and eat all their eggs.....The water turns murky and I hate it.
My question is should I change half water after spawning or it will be cleaned by filter?

Hi Fefe, nice to see you around again!! wav.gif
Do a waterchange to get rid of the murkyness. Otherwise it does a little havoc to your biological filtration, a lot of extra mess might cause a small ammonia spike. Milt does not stay fertile for a long time, and after a few minutes without any female eggs its basically worthless anyway. The female eggs has only seconds to be fertilized by milt, and if that small window closes - even with milt around after those few seconds - the egg will not be fertilized. There is a little hole in each egg, and it only fills up with milt a few seconds after spawning, and afterwards it closes. There is no use for the milt to stay around longer, the egg will not be able to absorb it then. smile.gif
Spawning, hm? Wonna have a few babies? yeah.gif
