Hi
In my aquarium I have a black moor, a Chinese algae eating fish, a algae eating catfish (one that sticks to the glass) and a white goldfish with an orange spot on its head - I am not very good on their technical names!

2 of my fancy goldfish died, a white one with the red spot and a golden one, and we did a complete clean out of the tank and started up the process again.

My black moor was being attacked by the surviving white fish and he lost most of his colour and had lumps on his gills. So we bought some first aid anti bacterial treatment from the local pet store and have been treating the water.

Now this is the 5th day of treatment and we noticed (after the 1st day) some small things that looked like tiny fish swimming on the top of the water. Most of these have been eaten by the fish however we have one tiny fish that measures maybe 2mm diameter. It looks like my algae eating catfish - has the same shape and the spots (my catfish looks like a leopard!) and has been swimming around the tank. It attaches itself to my goldfish and my black moor as it nearly got eaten by them!!

It doesn't appear to do any harm to the fish they dont have any tears where it has been and I am hoping that is isn't a parasite and is indeed a baby catfish!

Can you help! Since the treatment went in the water and the fish are back to normal now and i have to say that the moor and the white fish look like they are mating too.

Sorry this is long!

If you only have one catfish, you wouldn't be having babies, since the eggs would need to be fertilized.

Could you please describe the thing that is in the tank a bit better?

shouldn't have algae eaters with goldfish, they will suck the slime coat off of your
fish and kill them - especially when your algae eaters are mature.
