rolleyes.gif Heh. Sorry for my snaily ignorance, but what are these Columbian Ramshorns I've heard about? And how big do they get? I'm kind of curious, because there are ramshorns in my snail bowl. they're getting bigger than all the rest of the snails, and I don't know what kind they are, but I'm thinking of putting them in the tank, later on.
So... what are they? And are these snails of mine going to get bigger than 2 cm long? blink.gif

I havent come across these snails myself, but I think they look very pretty.

I found this link which might be helpful to you:

Generally the species is Marisa cornuarietis. They are the smallest of the most commonly seen snails in the aquarium trade, rarely getting over an inch or so. I don't have any so that's about the most information I can offer right now. These guys DO eat plants though, unlike the Brigs, so if your tank is planted, be warned. smile.gif

Erm...most of my Marisas have gottn to 1.5"+. I found giant 2.5" ones at a local petstore once. 1" is usually the norm, because the females tend to not reach breeding size until they are 3/4".

My snails look like that but they're only about a centimetre long... I don't know whether I should let them in the tank! huh.gif
What do you guys think?
