Hi guys. I was wondering if i have to condition males and females in separate tanks for breeding. I'm clueless! huh.gif Also, will they breed if I don't do anything?

It really depends on a few things, Ryukingirl. The temperature, for one thing. They should have a period of cooler temperatures, and I think CA has that - pretty much the same like where I live (Central FL).
I have not separated my males and females, and my shubunkin have had fry already this year. Although a few professional breeders tell me to separate them during conditioning, and then put them together after a few days. I have tried that with my wakin, and those sneaky little devils found a way around the divider! lol.GIF
I would just feed them a few extra meals during the day, and do more frequent water changes. The latter one doesn't hurt anyhow since the feeding is going to be heavier than usual.
Doing the best you can is all you can do, then sit back and wait what happens. Sometimes all the conditioning in the world doesn't do anything. Just ask Koko, she'll tell ya! rofl3.gif
