Are turtles compatible with goldfish ?

I just got rid of my lobster and 2 ghost koi and i'm thinking of getting a turtle which i might put in with the other goldfish or in a tank on its own.

or i was thinking of getting a male siamese fighting fish and 2 females and putting them in the old lobsters tank and see if i get babies. I'm told i can put them in glases and jamjar's etc because they are used to living in very little water of poor quality.

Turtles are not good tankmates for goldfish. Most turtles will quickly try to make lunch out of small goldfish.

Breeding bettas takes time, patience, and very, very good water quality. Bettas my also be able to withstand poor water quality for longer than most fish, but they will die before too long because of it.

You should leave your goldfish by himself. Or get him another goldfish as a friend but only if your tank is larger than ten gallons and you have the proper amount of filtration needed for that size tank.

How big is your goldies tank and what is the name of the filter (and size)? Based upon that info, we can discuss a possible tankmate for your goldfish such as a Dojo loach or something.

Post back soon and I'll bet we can come up with few good ideas for you. biggrin.gif
