hi
i have a 55 gallon tank with 5 gf all under three inches. all fancy. i aslo have 1 plecco. i would really like to get another fish other than a gf or plecco or algea eater. i would also consider purchasign a tankmate other than a fish like a frog or even a snail or something. any suggestions. oh, i would also prefer an attractive looking one. i know i am picky person, but that's why i had to turn to you guys for suggestions. any ideas? :listen:

Zebra danios, white cloud minnows(those are schooling fish, they'll do best at around 3-6), apple snails(not sure if they need a heater), im not sure about frogs, because when they get bigger they might eat your fishs.

I have a shoal of seven white clouds in with my five goldfish in my 66 gallon tank. I really enjoy them, and once they mature, they are very attractive. Mine have developed little red noses lol.GIF

how cute. thanks. do you think i would have enough room for at least 3? my gf are still pretty small.

I would go with six. Even when full grown, white clouds are small and don't add much to the bio-load. JMO biggrin.gif

First to start off with, what type of pleco do you have?, I would
not get anymore fish. Please remember that your fish will grow,
so they might need the extra 5 gallons....

If you want something to clean up alittle, you could get an Apple snail.

Also, frogs and fish don't mix. You should keep them seperated, if you get a Adf, the goldfish will most probably end up eating it, and if you get a Acf then your goldfish will get eaten,

Good luck smile.gif

Here is a point that Black Oranda and I disagree on biggrin.gif But, that is allowed!!!!

I think that snails are far more dirty than a shoal of white clouds. IMO, they would add more to the bio-load. JMHO!

hi
i think i am going to go and see amybe buy 4 zebra danios or 4 white clouds. i can't wait. question: will they generally tend to stick to the top area of the tank because that is what i have been reading?

these two are really cute. i didn't know that white clouds could be colorful.
Black oranda
biggrin.gif I disagree, because Danios and white clouds are
small fish, and once your goldies get older and biger imagen one gets mistaken as food, and then gets stuck in the goldies mouth.
(ha, try to get that out)

Personaly i wouldn't go mixing 2 tottaly diffrent fish togther.
Im sure the Danios and white clouds would be much happier in a tank filled
with fish there size aswell. And diet is diffrent aswell.

If you are getting white clouds, may I recomend some medaka? quite fun to breed and still small at the same time. I hope you get a newfish.gif soon!

I have had the white clouds in with the goldfish for several years, and they don't try to eat them. If they did get them in their mouths, they wouldn't get stuck since they are smooth all over and unlike otos and corys, don't have any sharp barbs.

White clouds are happy at cooler temperatures (like goldfish), and I feed them crumpled goldfish flakes.

They do stick to the upper 1/3rd of the tank smile.gif

I'm going with Black Oranda on this one. Nothing wrong with understocking.

hi everyone. well i have some bad news. i really wanted to go and buy a few zebra danios, but i talked it over with joe, my fiance, and he said that he thinks i have enough fish and they are going to grow and i cannot afford a new tank as i barely was able to buy this one. so i agreed and i will have to wait a long while before i add anymore fish so i can save to buy an even larger tank.
thank you everyone for your advice. can't wit till i have enough to get my fishies.
