hey..im new to this so im not sure if this goes here...but i got my fish, Henry Fredrick, a little over a month ago..and i noticed right away that when my light was on, he would swim to the bottom. And when i would turn off the light, he would swim. And then he got over that, and now hes kinda back at it again. Is that normal for a fish?

How are your water params?--ammonia, nitrIte, nitrAte and
ph level?

If the hiding has become unnormal, the water may be having
something to do with it. How often do you change and how
much? Do you add a dechlorinator with each change?

i have no idea what my ammonia, nitrIte, nitrAte and
ph level are..

I just have him in a regular fish bowl. I change the tank each week and i add decholrinator too...he seems to be getting better though..i think it might be the light, or he might just be sleeping, because he sleeps quite a lot..

what i would do is read through this website a learn alot more about fish, as in the near future you should get a tank of at least 10gallons, as thats what a fish requires for a home. bowls are not very good for gold fish and there lives are cut short very quickly as the water, gets way to dirty and toxic, as there is not enough room for the fish, to get clean water from such a small space. smile.gif
