So ive fed my goldies cucumber before, and the liked it fine, bit i was only giving it in little bits, so theyd suck it up. But anyways, i decided maybe the loach might enjoy some, so i cut the peel off a slice of cucumber and plopped it in the tank... It Floats! Who'd of thought. So now my golf fish are trying to eat it, but there kinda scared of this big mass floating in the tank (even tho they know its food, or else why would they be trying to eat it, silly goldies) And my loach cant get any, becuase he doesnt leave the bottom.
So short of going out and buying some crazy sinking cucumber clip, should i just tie it to a rock or something? how can i get it to sink?

i cut a slice and let the fish suck on it and after a day it sinks so the plec can finish it. smile.gif

wouldnt it sink because its old? Im thinking about when lettuce gets stuck under the filter and i dont know its there, it does sink after a day or two, but its pretty nasty by then. Would it be safe for the loach to eat? Sorry for all the doubt, i know it wont be bad after a day but i just lost a loach and dont want to lose another one

I use one of those fat rubber bands and rubber band veggies to a rock to sink them.

I stick a fork into the meat of it.

The fork weights the cucumber so it will stay at the bottom of the tank where my pleco's find it. The fork and cucumber are put together and placed in the tank tines down. No one gets hurt! My forks are stainless steel and I rinse them with water to make sure there's no soap on it. I take the fork out in the morning! No one ever sees the fork in the tank.

Please don't tell my husband I do this! rofl3.gif (Accually, he knows.)
