I am about to plant all of my tanks and really want to learn the basics of this co2 buissness.... first of all, it carbon doixide, right? wrong? what do I need to know...

Hey, and while I'm at it can anyone tell be what types of test kits I will need to be able to test my water to make sure my plants have their needs met? I already have a ph test.

Could you post your pH and KH levels?

Do a search for Flourish Excel. It provides carbon that plants can use without having to set up a CO2 system.

You can make your own CO2 system easily. 2 liter pop bottle, airline tubing, airstone, some aquarium sealant, some yeast, sugar and water. Do a web search for DIY CO2. There are also units you can buy.

I'm getting the kh test kit soon someday in the mail.... I'll let ya know!
