i want a light that doesnt turn on at once. i want it to get stronger and stronger for some time before its reaches its max lighting. Same thing with switchin off.
Just like dawn and sunset..

Like 30mins dawn and 30mins sunset.

Is that possible?? how? smile.gif

I'm sure it would be possible.. i've seen it on normal lights, not flourescents though... probably need to go see some big light store, they might know!

This type of lighting is not available off the shelf. If you like to have one, you can get an incandecent lamp (a normal bulb), fix a lamp dimmer and adjust it slowly to achive the light level you desire. Of course you have to manually turn the lamp dimmer.... sad.gif Once you are happy with the light level, you can then switches on your normal lighting.
Hope this helps.
Cheers........

there MUST be automatic dimmers... i cant believe nobody never thought of that before!!...

Let me know if you can find one. There is automatic dimmer around that dims the light slowly but you want it to be the other way round!! In normal life why one need this as the sun will provide this lighting effect naturally. You probably need to construct one the works the opposite.

Several companies offer programmable fade on, fade off fluorescent lighting controllers... But they're not cheap.

Most of the lower cost units only offer 0-99 second fade on/off timers, but that's still better than blasting your fish with full tank lights. While searching, I found a couple of high end units that offered 0-99 minute faders.

Or google (fade on fluorescent lighting dimmers)
