hello, i have a bit of an issue with one of my bettas and swim bladder disorder. hes in a 5 gallon tank and it seems lately everytime i feed him more than once or twice a week he gets extremely bloated and starts floating on his side helplessly, but everytime, if i fast him for a few days hes fine again. i dont overfeed him (i put like 10 pellets in the tank because he shares it with 2 lemon tetras, and they wouldnt let him eat all 10 if he wanted to lol) , so im not sure why he gets all sbd-ish when i feed him like someone normally would. is it alright to just feed them once a week? i feel like im starving the poor thing but he just cannot eat daily without blowing up like a balloon blink.gif does anyone have any insight on why he does this?

Could you try feeding him something other than pellets and see if that helps? Maybe your lfs sells frozen or live foods. Or if you don't want to do that, you could try a homemade gel food. My bettas love gel food biggrin.gif I believe there is a packaged gel food available, too.

Hope you can solve your problem biggrin.gif
