Hi everyone!
This may seem a silly question, but I'm totally new to fish keeping, found this site to be a great help tho!!! Congrats on such a great place!!
We got two calico oranda's last weekend to go in our new tank, (read up on cycling and all that! Tiz very strange having a running tank but no fish!!! lol)
and they're great lil characters, but we saw some pearlscales which we fell in love with and want to add. I just wondered if oranda's & pearlscales are ok in the same tank?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

Thanx

I cant see why they cant be in the same tank. I think the two breeds will get along fine. biggrin.gif

Thanx Selena,

Being new to all this, I just wanted to make sure! smile.gif

They should do just fine as long as you have enough space for everyone to swim around comfortably.

Thanks for the replies, meant to respond earlier, but been having trouble with the pc

Anyhoo, added one pearlscale, (shop only had one left, will be getting another next weekend!!) lovingly named Beaker! He/she (???!!!!!) is making him/herself right at home, and the oranda's (cosmic & clash) get on great with him/her!!!

Does anyone have a fish that likes to 'surf' the filter jet stream?!! lol rofl2.gif soooo funny to watch!!!!

Congrats on the new fish. I have all orandas but those little pearlies are so cute, if I ever decide on another variety they would be what I would get.
My next gf I want is a calico oranda, I haven't found the perfect one for me yet, still looking. I know she/he is out there somewhere.

has pearlscale, oranda, and lionhead all living happily together. no problems, Pearl, (pearlscale) was a little slow at getting her food at first, now shes right up there with the rest of them biggrin.gif
