Can I cycle a new tank with a snail? would that be too hard on the snail?

Personally.. I wouldn't do it, mostly because my snails are super spoiled and I wouldn't want to take a chance. However, I think it might be ok but you would want to do it with a snail and a small fish or two, not the snail alone. If you want to, I'd buy a hardy little Ramshorn. Not TOO little though. However, I am no expert, I'd like to hear others' opinions.

Hmmm i like the fishless cycle... i wouldn't take the risk.
Do you have any other tanks set up? if so you could add some rocks maby form the other rock to speed up the cycle and maby some water from that other house.

yeah, I do have another tank. I have a 55 gal but it is too crowded with six fish so I am moving one fish (Nemo, he has a missing fin) into his own tank. I can take better care of him that way. Can I just add water from the old tank and cycle it that way?

smile.gif I think so, it will really help with the cycle i think.

adding the gravel or filter media from the big tank will help! more so than the water alone.
