Ok, I need to get a filter for a [roughly] 15 gallon tank. It houses 2 goldfish which are still quite small so I don't want a filter that could harm them in any way.
I need someone to give me some information on the types of filters that I could use as a beginner at goldfish keeping.
How does each filter work, how do you set it up, how expensive is it, will I need additional airation with it, how do I maintain each one etc.
Any help will be welcomed!

Hi I am going to move your thread to the equipment forum, that way more people will see it.

As for your question Hang on the back power filters work great. As well as canisters. I don't know alot about canisters though.
The HOB (hang on the back) filters you want 10 times the filtration per hour........meaning if you have a 15 gal tank you want it to do 150-200 gal an hour.

The best filter for goldfish in my opinion are power filters. They are extreamly easy to clean and maintain. They also have power filters with a bio wheel that start beneifitial bacterial which is very important for new tanks. The price of a power filter can range from 12.99 to 129.99,but in your case for a 15 gal 14.99 to 23.99. biggrin.gif
