Hey all.. new here.. I have been running several tanks (8) for a few years now.. Slowly weeding out the smaller ones and going bigger.. Anyway.. I have just moved my 2 fancy goldfish (a male and a female) (lived 18 months in a 30 gallon)into the new 55 gallon that I got two weeks ago.. I am using some old gravel, well used silk plants and preused filter media to get things going cycle wise... I have nitrate and pH test kits to manage the cycling that does occur. The fish are maybe 2 inches long and just slightly less deep, not including finage. I have several large pomacea canaliculata and pomacea bridgessi snails in there with them too.. About 15 gallons worth filtration wise. So, I bought a new little fancy today.. smile.gif She is all white with large black bulging eyes and looks just like a black eyed pea!!! yeah.gif . She is only tiny, about 1 inch long and 1/2 inch deep. I have her in a well cycled (2 years running) ten gallon to quarantine for awhile but am wondering when I could add her to the mix with the bigger goldies? Does she need to be bigger or are things okay after two weeks in quarantine... that is my usual waiting period. Any thoughts and ideas would be so appreciated!!! Sorry for being long winded.. Thank all...

welcometo.jpg and congradulations on the new tank and newfish.gif! If I were you I would maybe wait a bit longer before putting the new fish in ur 55gal tank with the other goldies. I was wondering tho how small is the new fish and how big are the other fish ur going to put him with because if there is a pretty big difference the larger fish may chase or nip at him. That's wat happened to my cousin anyway. And someone showed a picture of a larger gf that ate a smaller fish and it got stuck in it's mouth. That was a different kind of fish tho.

Hey,,, She certainly wouldn't fit in their mouths .. he he.. I am thinking more about it and I believe it will be okay.. I have always had a male betta in with them and there has never been any fuss between the goldies and betta from either side. They seem pretty dosile.. I guess all I can do is just watch and see.. She has that 10 gallon available to her for as long as she needs it!!! Thanks... biggrin.gif ang
