Hi everyone. Just got a betta and a little 1 gal. for him. I really have no patience for aging water so I used some water from my goldie tank to fill it. The GF tank is cycled, so I though the water would be good quality and I change out some of their water every week anyway. Betta seems very happy!

If all your levels were ok, it should be fine. Just watch the betta tank, it will probably go thru a little mini cycle until the filter gets a hold of the good bacteria.

Sorry for the delay... Not cycling the tank, it's only a one gallon. The funny thing is I switched to bottled

water this week b/c the old gf water ended up stinky. Hm. Thank you though!

Stinky water is a bad sign....Check your water levels... usually when it smells bad it's because your ammonia is to high.

Thank you! Sorry for the slow response, I think Kokos had dificulties...The thing is I started using bottled water and the water still stinks! I think it could be a little grass plant in the tank. ANyone ever had that??? Amonia's O

If it is a live plant, and the plant isn't actively growing, but is stagnating, that could cause the water to smell.
