before you start breeding, there are quite a few questions that need to be asked:
do you have a spare tank of a minimum of 5 gals?
do you have a tank of at least 20 gals?
do you have a bit of spare cash?
are you sure of the sex of your current fish?
id say she is about old enough to breed. id get another sort of fantail, maybe an oranda or something like that but get him about 3-4" or you'll have to wait what seems like forever for him to be old enough. the way to get a good male is to see if they have breeding tubricles (little dots on the gill covers and first spine of the pectoral fin). they will definately like each other. lol. the reason for them being alive in their opinion is to carry on the genes so id be pretty confident if you get them in the mood, there'll be chemistry
