Hi!
I have 5 male Bettas at home right now and I was interested in getting a female (to keep separately, I am not at all interested in baby bettas!). : )
Are they cared for the same way male bettas are cared for?
Can i put them in a tank with goldfish?

The care for a female is pretty much the same as a male. However, most females are more peaceful, and can be kept with other tropical fish, or with other female bettas. Some females can be aggressive, though, so it is a bit of trial and error. If you are going to keep a group of females, it is best to keep at least five. Then they establish a pecking order, and one female isn't picked on all of the time by the dominant female.
I think the problem with keep them with goldfish is that goldfish are coldwater fish and bettas are tropicals. The temperature that they prefer is different, as is there feeding requirements.
I currently have a tank with 7 female bettas, and their colours rival that of the males. They all get along very well, without any aggressive.

Bettas lay eggs and don't give birth to live fry, like guppies or other livebearers do. So, a female may get quite rotund when they fill up with eggs, but unless they are put with a male, they will not have young. They either pass the eggs or the eggs are absorbed.
Yes, you can definitely keep one female betta alone
