Hi leo, is it a new snail? An apple snail can eat a lot in one go and then sleep and digest its food for days without moving. It will also munch on algae around the tank. The only way to tell if a snail is really dead is when it relax the muscle holding the front cover plate. Wait a few days and see.

Heya Leo. I have never had an apple snail but i did once have a pond snail. he never ate a thing that i put in the tank, so i gave up after a while! it seems that he was getting enough food from the algae that was on the side of the tank. i wouldnt worry hun. keep putting food in there for him, but if he still doesnt eat anything than its probably because of the algae. How big is he? and what sized tank have you got him in?

hmm. is he a baby Leo? if so then he would not need so much food, and would probably be getting enough of the algae. Do you have lighting in the tub?
Is there possibly abother tank you could put him in, or would your fish eat him? if he is big enough to fit in their mouths then they will probably eat him, if not then i dont think that they would. the reason i suggest this is because in a proper tank the lighting would encourage algae to bloom, or grow, and their would certainly be enough food in their for him.

He is way to big for my fish to eat him.I dont have any lighting but the tub is put near a bright place

.I thought that algae only comes out if you have real plants?

is there any lighting in your other tank? i would suggest getting some real plants, they also oxygenate the water for your fish.

it all depends on how big your other tank is hun.

Indirect sunlight is not enough for plants. You need direct sunlight or a overhead light.

Have you tried giving him some alage pellets or turtle pellets? If you dont have that you can just try fish food. What you can do is put some tank water in a bowl, soak and sink the pellets/ flakes and put your snail in there. I do that sometimes to make sure they are eating or if I want to keep my water cleaner, cause food can mess the tank a bit.
Do you blanch the lettece with hot water first. I think apple snails prefer rotting plants so I always blanch the spinach and lettece before I put in there and they seem to eat it. My apple snails dont eat the plants that are in my tank.
I hope that helps
