Hi there smile.gif I have a 10 gallon tank with 4 GF frys in it.I was wondering if I could put a snail in there because algae is building up wildly. My frys are 6 weeks old so they're really small babies.Any suggestions on what kind of snail is best ?Snails that could'nt do harm to my babies? thanxsn.gif

I dont think snails will hurt your fry. What snails are you thinking of getting???

I try to scrape some every other day but I'm afraid it'll stress my frys cause they kind of swim like crazy when I stick my hand in their tank. sad.gif

I have golden mystery (apple) snails in my fry tanks and they are doing fine. smile.gif

Snails can be messy, so they may clean some algae, but pollute your tank with their poo at the same time. If it's just algae you want to battle, I would just manually clean it, but if you really want snails, then you have to consider that they take some care as well. Also if you get a couple of snails, be prepared for them to breed. I have hundreds of Ramshorns now, and I only started with two biggrin.gif

It might be safer and healthier for your fry if you just manually clean the algae, but it's up to you.

Does the snails you saw look like this?:
